Your brand’s been different since day one, but
No more.
Nuh-uh.
Not on my watch.
We pull the thread on what made your brand different before the internet told you how it should be done.
We’re not doing that anymore. From here on out, we ditch the “right way” for the “ouuu, that could be cool…” way. We chase goosebumps, not “growth hacks”. We collect no-filter ideas that make people stop mid-scroll and go, “wait, who is this?”
...until the character comes into focus.
We give that part
And before you know it? You’ve built more than a business…you’ve built a whole-ass brand world.
One you actually want to belly up to every day, pull a long shift with, and still like to be around, even after closing time.
The way you really work when it’s just you (or your crew) doing your thing.
The off-the-cuff instincts, the inside jokes, the hard-earned perspectives, the late-night “wait, what if…”
The reason people said “heelllls yeah!” back when you were still makin’ it up as you went.
a name.
Here’s how
PICK YOUR POISON
ON DRAFT
Done-with-you copy edit
It’s for when your writing needs a second brain with good taste and no attachment issues to your filler words.
A bar favourite:
Your draft is 70% there…but your brain is 120% over it.
A two-round, co-edit to drag your voice out by the collar, dial in your message, and turn your “is this working” spirals into a few shots of “hell yeah, I can’t wait to share this.”
This is not an “audit” or a red-pen teardown.
Let’s put your writing confidence on draft.
Words from the On Draft regulars
"Your feedback is SO brilliant, and I know I say it all the time but THANK YOU. You’re a Master."
You’re a content creator's gift from the Gods. Your magical touch turned everything to gold.
Alex Stacey James, Leadership Coach & Mentor
"I saw an increase in direct number of bookings via my website."
I've gained a lot of confidence to clearly articulate my offerings in a way that feels in alignment with my values. Steph will walk alongside you to coach and support you while entirely transforming your copy to ensure it's on brand and in alignment with your values - she is an instrumental part of your launch team! I was genuinely blown away by the support, time and care she offered.
Holly Horne, Operational Strategy Specialist
"Nearly every prospective client mentions the energy and connection they feel on my website and in my message."
They know immediately that they are in the right place. You allowed my voice and energy to shine and connect with my aligned audience.
Paige Buda, Brand Strategist & Designer
Voice on the Rocks
Done-with-you voice workshop
All that messy copy you can’t wait to delete? Joke’s on you. It built character. Literally.
Buried in those half-finished captions, notes-app rambles, turns of phrases, and cursed little draft fragments, you’ve got the scraps. The clues. The distinct little tells that point to a voice and personality your brand can be built around.
We’re gonna bottle that up so you can pour it everyyywwwwhere.
Because clarity’s cool, my dude. But a brand people can clock from across the room? That’s the sh*t that sticks.
Well Said Workshop
Done-with-you messaging workshop
Messaging that brings all the dreamiest clients to the yard has some damn conviction…yours is wobbling in with a Jell-O shooter and avoiding eye contact.
It’s okay. You just can’t read the label from inside the bottle. You’ve been too deep in your own work, industry, ideas, and brain rot to clearly see what’s actually there.
So we’re gonna pull out the ideas, perspectives, stances, and through-lines that make people lean in and go, “wait, say more,” then get you fired up to spill that good stuff all over the internet.
You’ve gottem, we just need pour em’ out.
workshops buzz
"Voice on The Rocks should be mandatory for every single business out there."
The guide isn’t a box, but it gives me structure. I finally have a reference I can go back to daily. It keeps me consistent and true to my voice without feeling restricted.
Orlane, Customer Success & Retention Educator
"Oh. My. Goddess! Holy f** girl, that is hot and on point!"
Sooo much has been pouring out of me the last few days, I can't even.
This reflects me and I resonate with all of it. You soooo get my vibe!”
Happy Client
"Working with Steph was one of the best investments I have ever made (4 years in business, tens of thousands of dollars spent on investments) in my business and I can't wait to do it again.
I feel like a better writer. Like I have a whole tool kit to lean on when I write copy in the future.
Alexa, Business and Leadership Coach
"Steph helped me clear the brain fog and to stop overthinking it."
With her help, I've had an increase in website traffic to my sales page. Steph is a copywriting rockstar that can take what you're trying to say and turn it into words that sell.

Brand World Build + Guide
The Should-Verse is crowded. Let’s build somewhere better.
This is the big pour.
We build you a whole ass brand world ecosystem from the character at the centre of it: your voice, your message, your personality, your perspectives, your thing that makes people recognize you from across the damn internet.
Copy from Scratch
“Please, for the love of vampire faerie fiction, Steph, just write it all for me.”
Well, alright then.
I’ve got it from here. You hand over the scraps, the rants, the “here’s what I meant but better” nonsense, and I turn it into words you’re stoked to share.
Most of us spend the first few years of our business holdin’ it all together with a couple paperclips, a prayer, and pure adrenaline
It’s basically a rite of passage. Like the business-owner equivalent of cutting your bangs at 2 a.m.
You test the ideas.
Write the copy.
Cringe at the copy.
Say yes to the wrong clients.
Build the thing before you even know what the thing is.
Stay up too late googling “how do I make this less ugh.”
Cycle through a few colour palettes and at least one identity crisis.
And then? You get sucked into the Should-Verse.
(Don’t feel bad. It gets all of us eventually.)
In the Should-Verse, templates and “best practices” reign supreme, curiosity gets swapped for correctness, and there’s always some guy telling you that in order to “build, grow, scale” you need to “niche down”, “optimize”, “strategize”.
Little by little, the business that used to run on prayers, guts, and good ideas starts running on boring old “rules” (ew).
That’s usually where I walk in.
My name, by the way, is Steph.
But, my friends call me Laffy. So you can just call me Laffy. (Or Legend. Legend works for me too.)
I’ll be your bartender/brand voice copywriter/brand world builder.
I used to joke that my alter ego was The Bitter Bartender.
Now, to be fair, I was an actual bartender and, seriously, you did not need bitters for your old fashioneds if I was on shift.
And do you know what?
It worked for me. I leaned into it. Became playfully known for it with regulars. Built a brand persona around it.
Also known as...
“A badass word fairy”
“My forever word muse"
“A freaking legend”
or “The cool aunt to my project baby.”
I hired Steph to help me launch a new program and she was EASILY the best investment I made for it.
Steph's not only a chefs-kiss top notch word smith, but she's also a fantastic cheerleader who's genuinely bought into your brand and mission. She takes her time to get to know you and what she's helping you market and that meant the world to me.
We were able to pull off a 75k launch but I know I would not have welcomed as many wonderful perfect match students as I did had I not worked with Steph.
HIRE HER! You won't regret it.
GRACE BRODEUR, PROCRASTINATION + MINDSET COACH
We were at a point where writing anything for ourselves felt basically impossible.
I felt us just blending in with the crowd of hundreds of photographers and losing what makes us, well, us.
After getting our brand voice guide, I finished our entire website copy in like what, a week? Fucking ridiculously happy.
Steph's a fucking badass. She just kinda gets it without you ever really needing to try too hard. She knows just what to ask to understand how to say the kinds of things you've been trying to say before you even realized it.
Stop what you're doing and go fucking do it. Hit her up.
NORA & KEVIN, SOL & SAND PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY
After working with her I felt Like I totally could own my brand voice and felt proud that I could send people to my services page because the words sell themselves.
The day I launched the single page copy for just my services I had 5 inquiries (previously I had zero) and also had people screen shot sections and tell me how much they loved it. I now feel at ease and a little bit stoked to dive into writing Instagram captions and email newsletters.
I feel like Steph has given me permission to be me and shown me how to translate it into words. Working with Steph was so exciting as she brought my own voice to life in a way I would never be able to do myself.
Channel, Showit templates for wedding and elopement photographers
Working with Steph has been one of the BEST decisions I have made in my business.
I used to struggle MASSIVELY with copywriting and it used to really hinder my results when I would do a launch or if I was trying to sell a new product. But, since working with Steph, things have completely changed.
She not only has incredible writing skills but she’s able to perfectly encapsulate my energy and my voice so that I still feel confident when I’m sending out emails that my audience is receiving what I want to say, rather than just a stock standard copy message.
ERIN MAY HENRY, BUSINESS COACH, CONTENT CREATOR, FOUNDER OF THE CHILLPRENEUR COMPANY
She’s made my writing better AND my writing experience easier, more honest, more effective, and more fun.
I used to think that copywriters only did the writing for you…I didn’t want that. Then when I learned they also edited your work, I feared they might: tear my work apart… give me more painful work to do, rob my personality from my musings, tell me my stuff sucked or equally lie and say it was wonderful.
Then I met Steph.
She’s made my writing better AND my writing experience easier, more honest, more effective, and more fun. A few of my favourite things. So if they are yours too, you’ll wanna hit her up.
ALEX STACEY JAMES, LEADERSHIP COACH & MENTOR
It’s THE most confident I’ve ever felt in my writing.
The best investment I’ve ever made in my business was hiring Steph to help me define my brand voice in email, which has now trickled into all my socials.
Amanda Kohal, social media strategist and founder of The Instasite
I have a lot of ideas, most of them in point form, and I really wanted to find my voice through email. This, of course, included a brand voice guide, which I still use and refer back to today.
It’s hard to put into words how I feel after working with Steph, but it’s THE most confident I’ve ever felt in my writing. It’s actually become my favourite creative medium, and I genuinely look forward to writing now.
The Pod
8-episodes of double-dog daring you to do this whole brand voice thing differently.
They’re literally just words on the internet, my dude. So let’s just have some fun, shall we?
Let’s mess up, write weird stuff, and figure out what it means to “sound like you”, even if “you” includes questionable metaphors and curse words.
I’ll help ya get started.
Listen to
Your brand’s already in there. It just needs a better bartender.
One more thing before you wander off
And hey. If you’re thinkin’, “Brand world? Dude, that sounds like a lot…” Pinky promise, it ain’t.
Think less fantasy universe, more ecosystem.
Built from your voice, your message, your personality, and the words that makes people wanna stick around.
And it all starts with onnnneee drink order.
Ready to pull up a stool and get started?
