Books to me are one of the MOST valuable tools I have to create success in my life and in my business. You can learn from them, you can be inspired by them, you can daydream with them, you can relate to them…the whole gambit. Even reading 1 chapter or for just a few minutes a day can have such an incredible impact of your learnings and…dare I say…Creative Powers. Seriously, I cannot count the number of new ideas that have been born from the most wildly unsuspecting books this year. You definitely don’t have to read 50 books a year (You only ever have to do what’s right for you), but I dare you to read one page a day for the next month and see how empowered you feel by what you’ve absorbed. Need some help picking your first one of the year? Here are my 10 favourite reads from 2020!

“Once upon a time, there was a man named Jack Gilbert, who was not related to me—unfortunately for me.” This opening line is my literary version of “You had me at hello”. And, Elizabeth Gilbert definitely had me at hello. She has me for the rest of the book too, in fact. From start to […]

Gretchen Rubin’s The Happiness Project has made me keenly aware of the busy bee blur that has begun to occur in my life…. That the constant shifts between ambition, productivity, and fun have perhaps caused my intentions to get lost in the mix of things. Flowing With the Go has turned into Just Go to […]

This book came to me at the EXACT moment I needed it.
I had finally come to realize the Non-Creative story I had been telling myself was complete and utter BS. I had embraced myself as a creative person but I was still looking for guidance on how to meaningfully blend creativity into my life and newly formed business.
Because I knew that truly making creativity a part of my everyday life and actions was going to be the key to really CREATING the life of my dreams.

“Life changes in an instant. The ordinary instant.” A spent the morning lost in a book…lost in emotion. The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion has been on my list of Must Read Before I Die books for a few years now. I can actually remember the moment I decided I needed to read […]

You Are A Badass: The Sequel (Well, Sorta) I would like to open by saying that if you are looking for a step-by-step practical guide to becoming a millionaire, this is NOT the book for you. You are not going to find investment tips or retirement savings advice on a single one of its pages. […]

Embracing Authenticity Over Perfection Brené Brown and I go way back… in my admiration for her work, at least. Yet, this is the first book of hers I’ve delved into. Maybe, deep down, I was bracing myself for the profound truths she’s known to unveil. Ever watched Brené Brown deliver a talk? If not, you’re […]
Her thing is finding what’s already there. The patterns, instincts, opinions, stories, phrases, and weird little tells hiding in the way you already think, speak, write, and work as a brand and/or human, so you can show up with confidence, build a brand world, and draw in the right kinda crowd.
So, did it work? Did she sound fancy?
No?
K, cool.
Hope you come hang out anyway.
Apparently, writing in third person is supposed to make you sound fancy.
*clears throat*
